Using NAICS codes for research:
The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) is a standard set of codes used by Federal statistical agencies in classifying business establishments for the purpose of collecting, analyzing, and publishing statistical data related to the U.S. business economy. You can use these codes in many of the business databases to help you find resources on a specific industry or sector. For example, if you want to search for information on the coffee industry you can use the word "coffee" as a search term, or you can use the NAICS code for the coffee sector of the food and beverage industry. It's a great short cut that can help you find resources which may not have the word "coffee" in the title.
