Libraries Outside of Bowman

In-Person Services

The Atherton Public Library doesn't just have books for check out! Public libraries have become hubs of information as well as community services, and you will find a lot there that Bowman Library doesn't have. It is half a mile away from Menlo College!

 

Some of the unique resources Atherton Public Library has are:

  • "The Library of Things": you can rent puzzles, board games, sewing machines, ukuleles, bicycles, and more.
  • Computers: like Bowman Library, the Atherton Public Library offers public computers and printing services!
  • Museum and state park passes give you free access to museums and state parks all over California
  • The Makerspace: use a 3-D printer to fore your own creations!

 

The Atherton Public Library is part of the San Mateo County library system, which has fourteen different libraries in cities all over the county. Those cities include Belmont, Millbrae, East Palo Alto, and more. You can also use your San Mateo Card at the Redwood City and Menlo Park libraries, as part of the Peninsula library system!

Both Atherton Public Library's website and the wider San Mateo County Library website provide detailed information about what services the libraries offer, as well as locations and operating hours of the library. You can use the website to check out ebooks, read newspapers, and find databases.
