ACRL Standards Workshop

Registration

Menlo College received a SCELC Projects Initiatives Fund (SPIF) Award to host the ACRL Roadshow Workshop: Planning, Assessing and Communicating Library Impact: Putting the Standards for Libraries in Higher Education into Action. The workshop will take place Wednesday, June 7th.

Priority registration is open to all librarians and library staff from SCELC Member institutions. If spaces remain, registration will be opened up to other academic libraries in California. Space is limited, so registration will be limited to no more than two (2) attendees from a given institution. Registration is free. Travel scholarships are available (see below).

Please register by 5PM Pacific on Friday, April 28, 2023.

Workshop Description

As academic and research libraries are increasingly asked to demonstrate value and align with standards in higher education, ACRL has developed a set of Standards for Libraries in Higher Education to provide guidance and set expectations. The Standards are an essential part of a library’s assessment portfolio. This workshop is intended to support librarians' engagement with the new standards. The workshop will help SCELC library leaders and staff articulate the value of library services according to national standards and identify areas for improvement.

Andrea Falcone, ACRL Speaker/Facilitator and Dean of the W. Frank Steely Library at Northern Kentucky University, will guide us through a day-long workshop.
