Disinformation
Disinformation is the deliberate dissemination of false information with the intention of influencing the policies or actions of those who receive it.

Misinformation
Misinformation refers to something which is not true. It differs from disinformation as it is "intention neutral": it isn't deliberate, it's just wrong or mistaken. Urban legends fall into this category.
