Library Tutorial Module 5: Citing

Module 5: Citing In-Text and In Your Bibliography

Citing sources occurs both in the body of your paper or presentation and at the end in a list of references.

  • The latter is called a bibliography
    • In an APA formatted paper the bibliography is titled "References"

    • In a MLA formatted paper the bibliography is titled "Works Cited"

In-text example

Tynes argues persuasively that "the records and statistics of any person testing positive for a banned substance should no longer be recognized as valid by the MLB" (2006, p. 508).

Bibliography example
