National Novel Writing Month in November at Bowman

Write with Bowman Library for National Novel Writing Month!

What is National Novel Writing Month?

Have you ever wanted to try writing a novel?  Come write with a whole community with National Novel Writing Month at Bowman LIbrary!

National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) is an online writing non-profit community that helps you track your progress, set milestones, connect with other writers in a vast community, and participate in events that are designed to make sure you finish your novel. Participation is free, and to get all the benefits of writing in a community you just need to make an account on nanowrimo.org .

The November writing goal is to write 50,000 words between November 1st and November 30th.  No one will check or read through your work, so the writing is done on the honor system.  Everyone participating in the National Novel Writing Month is working towards their own 50,000 words.  You can participate with others as much or as little as you like.  There are forums, pep talks, and on-line writing groups going on at the NaNoWriMo site all month long.  You can also come to the Menlo Bowman Library during our Write-Ins and write with others or you can use our NaNoWriMo sign to invite others to join you anytime the Library is open.

The Bowman Library is here to encourage you to join in a brave, fun writing challenge and try out your novel-writing skills!  You can learn more about the NaNoWriMo project here or sign up here.
