Join the library at 5:30 PM, Wednesday February 12 for a poetry reading by Professor Lakiba Pittman!

In celebration of Black History Month, Professor Lakiba Pittman will read original poetry published in the anthology Black Fire This Time. Her poetry reading is part of the opening night events for the Listen Up! : Leaders, Thinkers, Writers, Activists Speak Their Mind portrait show. The portrait show includes important figures and works related to Black History Month as part of its larger celebration of America's cultural heritage. The library welcomes you to continue your Black History Month celebration at the Listen Up! opening night event, where you can peruse the portrait show, enjoy light refreshments, and participate in a quote matching quiz for a chance to win a prize.

Can't make it to the opening? The portraits will be on display through the end of the Spring semester, so stop by any time.
