Bowman Library has engaged Carissa Tomlinson, Director of Student Experience, Learning and Accessibility from University of Minnesota Libraries, and expert in high impact student services in libraries, to explore and design student-lead library services. Ms. Tomlinson will assist in developing an intensive training program to prepare students for new service learning roles in the library.

Our kickoff meetings began this week. We have begun to look at insights from the National Survey of Student Engagement, NACE Career Readiness competencies, and high impact practices for student engagement that provide broader context. We will be looking at resources and capacity, as well as external experiences at other cultural institutions, to identify the best high impact library services for our Menlo College environment.

This planning effort is supported by a generous gift from Pamela and Michael Gullard. We are so very grateful for their support and investment in the next generation of student positions and library services.
